Views on Gorilla behavior
Most people deceive Gorillas by their enormous size and unrelentless control, but that is not the case. Gorillas are self-controlled and shy animals. They get violent when being threatened especially when protecting their family members. All Gorillas, especially Silverbacks, includes the beating of the chest, breaking branches, baring of the teeth, and also charge toward the threats.
Group Life
Male Gorillas will soon leave their troops at age 11 and travel alone or with a group of other Gorillas for 2-5 years to attract females and start their own breed. If leader is killed, the group will split up and look for a new protective male. There is a high chance that the new leader might kill the baby infants of the entire group.
Food and Foraging
Gorillas are herbivores. They tend to eat leaves, shoots, and fruits. There favorite hobby is eating in the day time. Lowland Gorillas usually eat fruits while Mountain Gorillas eat herbs, stems, and roots. |
